2. How we handle your data

2.1 On-device processing

Blood pressure readings you enter manually, readings captured by scanning a digital blood pressure monitor with the camera, and pulse data measured via the fingertip PPG sensor (camera) are all recorded, analyzed, and charted on your iPhone/iPad. Your data is not uploaded to cloud servers we operate, and the app works fully offline.

2.2 Data storage

• Measurement records, user profiles, and reminder settings are stored in the app sandbox (Documents directory) and persist with the app;
• PDF reports you actively export are written to a destination you choose via the system share sheet (Files, AirDrop, email, other apps, etc.);
• This data is not automatically synced to servers we operate.

3. Permissions

• Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription): used (a) to measure pulse via the fingertip PPG sensor, and (b) to scan digital blood pressure monitor screens to capture readings — only when you actively use these features;
• Photo library read (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): used to pick a photo of a blood pressure monitor display for scanning.

These permissions are managed by iOS and can be reviewed or revoked anytime in system Settings. The camera feed is used only for live measurement/recognition and is not saved or uploaded. We do not use these permissions for tracking or to build an identity profile of you.

4. What we do not collect

• No name, phone number, contacts, or precise location;
• No advertising or third-party tracking SDKs / IDFA advertising tracking;
• No sign-in is required for core features;
• Your blood pressure and pulse data never leaves your device (export/share is triggered by you and goes to your chosen destination).

5. In-app purchases

Beatio PRO (weekly, monthly, yearly auto-renewable, or one-time lifetime) is processed by Apple via App Store / StoreKit. Payment, billing, refunds, and subscription management follow Apple's terms. We cannot read your full card details from the app.

6. Crash & usage analytics

The current version does not integrate third-party crash/analytics SDKs that report data back to us. If this changes in the future, we will update this page and comply with applicable law.

7. Retention & deletion

Your measurement records remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app (subject to iOS behavior). Because we do not host your health data, there is generally no cloud-data deletion request needed. You can clear records within the app; uninstalling the app removes all local data from the app sandbox. Emails you send us are handled under ordinary email practices.

8. Children

The app is intended for general users who wish to log blood pressure and pulse, and is not directed at children under 13 for collecting personal information.

9. Medical disclaimer

Beatio provides tracking and reference metrics only. It is not a medical device, and its measurements and stage classifications cannot replace professional medical diagnosis. PPG pulse measurement is an estimate and may differ from medical-grade devices. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for any health concerns or medical decisions.

10. Third-party services

The app may invoke iOS system capabilities such as sharing, camera, and photo library, all managed by Apple. In-app purchases are processed by Apple.

We may update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date on this page.
